To achieve the realization of a sustainable society that protects the global environment, as outlined in The Long-Term Vision SHIMZ VISION 2030, our Group has established the following as action plans: Use of sustainable energy; promotion of energy-saving, energy creation and ZEB (zero energy) facilities; CO2 emissions reduction in all business activities; conservation of the natural environment and biodiversity.
As part of this initiative, we are moving forward with the development of the Nagoya Shimizu Fukoku Seimei Building, a green building located in Naka-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture (hereinafter, the “Project”). To finance the construction of the Project, we have decided to issue a green bond.
With the development concept being a super eco-friendly office tailored to diverse working styles, this project creates a workplace suited to the working styles of the new normal and aims to promote energy efficiency, conservation, and creation. In terms of environmental performance, the building is expected to achieve energy savings of over 50% compared to the standard primary energy consumption level and obtain “ZEB Ready” certification, the first of its kind for a large-scale multi-tenant office building in the three Tokai prefectures. In addition, the project incorporates BCP response measures such as emergency power generation equipment and emergency supply storage, ensures a high level of safety through the adoption of a seismic base isolation structure, and places emphasis on infection control through the introduction of a new air-conditioning system.
Through the issuance and use of this green bond, we aim to demonstrate our ESG-driven business approach and initiatives to a wide range of stakeholders. Going forward, we remain committed to contributing to the realization of a sustainable future society where people can experience richness and well-being.
