Come see, and experience the latest in technology
In addition to being a place for research and development, the Institute of Technology is also a place for verifying developed technology and communicating information. We would like to capitalize on its location in the center of Tokyo and have it be an "Open Institute of Technology" for the community at large.
Shimizu Open Academy
The Shimizu Open Academy is a program for young people throughout Japan that was launched in 2008. To interest young people in construction, experts explain construction technology in a manner that is easy to understand, through a wide variety of programs and experiential learning sessions.
Historical Gallery of Construction Technology
In 2005, we opened the Historical Gallery of Construction Technology. During the Meiji and Taisho eras (1868-1926), major progress was made on construction technology due to the earthquakes that occurred, and the technology introduced during that time forms the foundation of modern technology. The gallery introduces technology representative of the era, beyond the confines of Shimizu technology.
Open Innovation
The Institute of Technology houses researchers with expertise in a wide variety of fields, in addition to construction and civil engineering. These researchers pursue a broad range of research and development that surpasses the boundaries of individual fields. The institute also engages in active research and development with universities, public research institutions, and private corporations in different industries.
