Multi-Function Testing Laboratory: Fire Testing Block
The Fire Testing Block pursues research and development on materials and structures that offer high fire safety.
The Fire Testing Block meets the wide range of needs associated with fireproofing and fire resistance testing, thus helping to improve the fireproofing and fire resistance of various architectural and civil engineering structures. This includes fire-resistance measures for office buildings and ultra high-rise residential buildings, as well as vehicle-fire-prevention measures for road tunnels.
High temperatures and loads can be applied from various directions to individual test pieces, such as pillars, beams, floors, and walls. Our highly advanced, compact, and versatile heating equipment features high-temperature monitoring cameras.

AFR concrete

Multi-purpose furnace
Description of Tests and Experiments
- AFR concrete
- Fire-resistant segments (AFR concrete for tunnel construction)
- Concrete-filled steel tube (CFT) columns that eliminate the need for fire-resistant coating
- KG walls (dry-type, fire-resistant soundproof dividing walls)
- Fire-resistant, EM-wave-absorbing panels for use as glass curtain walls
- Three-dimensional structural analysis under incineration conditions (FIRE3D system)
- Tunnel structural analysis under incineration conditions
