Shimizu Corporation has a history of more than 200 years. The Shimizu Institute of Technology, established in 1944, was the first such institute in the construction industry. Since that time, our Institute has played a major role in the modernization of construction technology.
Taking advantage of our central Tokyo location, we collaborate across corporate borders and aim to become a center of "Open Innovation" combining the knowledge of various fields beyond construction as well as an information center for disseminating the results of our cumulative research to society.
Our philosophy is to act as an "Open Institute of Technology."
The "Built Environment" is defined by three elements: nature, human activity, and architectural space. If architecture achieves a harmonious balance between nature and human activity, the architecture will become a unique part of the culture and the community.
To create and realize such a built environment, we pursue research and development so as to contribute to society.
